To start, he has raised the Federal Pell Grant to $5,500. Moms, single or not maybe able to afford the college costs with the additional assistance.

He is also handing out multi-thousand dollar scholarships to help lift the financial burden of college. Many moms will qualify for the $5500 Pell grant and realize the dream of a higher education, a better paying job and contributing to the rebuilding of the economy. Moms are real busy either as stay at home moms or working so the option of taking on line courses makes time and money sense. When the kids are asleep mom goes into motion as a college student. Many colleges and universities have this option, along with schools that are primarily on line.

For those who are not eligible for the grant, scholarships worth $10,000 will be given out. Only a small amount of moms will receive this scholarship because there are so many moms applying for the prize. These scholarships will be very useful to any mom who is considering going back to school but does not have quite enough money. Moms who earn a college degree and ultimately a job taking advantage of the Obama scholarship programs also add to the pool of employed and strength the poor economy. College costs are large and moms will need more than the $10,000 scholarship to cover all expenses there by helping the economy grow by putting their dollars in the education field. The higher the degree the higher the salary in most businesses. Anyone, especially single moms obtaining a college degree resulting in a better job should be commended for raising their own and their kids standard of living. Moms see the scholarship program as a real gift to improve their living conditions.

The America dream seems reachable to many moms when they pursue their college career later in life through the scholarship program. Taken literally, the American dream is achieved when one owns a home. Home ownership is costly and takes a steady income which means moms must get a better education that opens jobs that pays more money so they can afford the dream. Moms are helping the economy of the country by improving the education through the scholarship program.

Going to college for moms on a scholarship is like there is nothing to lose but everything to gain, why not. Obama rejuvenating the moms scholarship and grant program has contributed to making better, wiser and more educated moms able to take care of their families and building a bridge to the business world. Moms need to register to be eligible for the monthly drawing that determines the scholarship winners.

Life is short and why wallow in the mud when moms can start a new life by registering for the college scholarship and earn enough money in a good paying job to take care of your family in the way you dreamed.

Obama To Set Up Scholarships to Single Mothers

By Fred Jackson

Single working mothers have perhaps the toughest job of all, in having to take care of their families on their own. Higher education is only a wish or a goal that has to be put on hold in order to take care of other responsibilities, for many moms. With his new administration, however, President Obama is encouraging moms to make their education a priority. Obama scholarships are offering working mothers a great chance to improve their futures.

Obama is urging working moms in particular to participate in his Scholarships for Moms program, whilst still encouraging people of all ages to seek higher education. Building on The Scholarships for Moms program, is the federal government’s abiding offer of Pell grants. The most commonly applied for forms of aid for students going to college are Pell grants, applied for through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. To encourage more mothers to return to school, the Obama administration is making some changes now.

For the Scholarships for Moms program, the biggest incentive is with the amount of money being offered. The maximum amount awarded through Pell grants is about $4,000 per student, but for mothers who apply to the program, that amount is increased to $5,000. The purpose of these grants is to allow working moms to return to school and earn a degree. That in turn allows them to better provide for their families now and in the future. The administration also envisages that by equipping mothers with skills to earn more money as working professionals will also be a stimulus to the economy. Moms can receive an education without the worry of school costs or of repaying a loan.

An additional great incentive for moms considering this program is that it applies to enrollment in nearly all types of higher education institution. As well as smaller community colleges, four-year universities are covered as well. You can go to a private school or a public one. If staying on campus isn’t an option, busy moms can opt to study through online courses. The government’s Scholarships for Moms program really is a comprehensive attempt to get eager mothers back into the classroom.

With the Obama scholarship, the worry of returning to school is removed. Working moms can earn a degree in almost any area of interest. This means that they can be fully equipped to provide for their families. Higher education no longer needs to be an unobtainable goal or an unfulfilled wish. The Scholarships for Moms program has been designed to help create a brighter future for mothers and their children.

Foods that Lead to Bed Wetting

By Marlin Rollins

Bedwetting is an occurrence that is embarrassing, awkward, and disturbing for both parents and children. This is a condition that mostly affects kids in the five-years-old range, but can also strike children as old as fifteen. When properly handled, bedwetting can be treated without future incident. There is no single cause leading to bedwetting, but there are many different factors that contribute to the act, including excessive drinking right before bedtime or a bladder infection.

Chocolate

Food items that contain caffeine have been known to cause excessive urination. One of the culprits in this category that affects children is chocolate. Whether they receive it as a treat before bedtime or worse, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa, the caffeine within these items can act as a stimulant throughout your child’s body. When caffeine is combined with sugar, the duo can be impossible on a child with a sensitive bladder.

Bubbly Drinks

Since children have no developed bladders yet, they usually cannot handle the carbonation in bubbly drinks. Besides soda, Gatorade can trigger bedwetting. Some doctors advise cutting down the total amount of water consumed by a child throughout the day. It is true adults need to consume sixty-four ounces of water daily, but a child only needs half that amount.

Oranges and Grapefruits

There is a high percentage of water in citrus fruits, like oranges and grapefruits. Moreover, their high acid levels have been proved to strongly affect sensitive bladders, resulting in the need to urinate in the middle of the night. Children whose bladders are not used to such nocturnal activities end up with bedwetting if they consume too much citric fruits.

Spicy Foods

Had a late dinner and your child really loves the extra salsa on their taco? The ingredients within the salsa, as well as in other spicy foods may contribute to bedwetting. Spicy foods have been known to speed up the elimination processes within the body.

Food Allergens

Some kinds of foods are known for their ability to create spasms in the bladder, which might lead to bedwetting. Thus, the reason behind your child’s problem might be an allergic reaction to a food he may have eaten right before sleeping. Corn, peanuts, eggs, soy, wheat and dairy products are some of the food products that might trigger bedwetting. Also avoid giving your child foods that are high in preservatives, colors and sweeteners right before bedtime.

Tips and Advice

In order to keep your child from bedwetting, keep him away from foods that can trigger the problem. In addition, you may have to try various behavior techniques. You can use a bedwetting alarm if your child is over seven years old; a bedwetting alarm has had a high percentage of success. If your child is younger, you can try the reward technique if your child keeps his bed dry throughout the night. In addition, this technique will also encourage your child to avoid consuming the foods that can trigger bedwetting. As your child gets older, have him change his wet sheet. Your child is then likely to avoid bedwetting just to avoid this chore.
